If you are someone like me, then you have a side hustle along with your job.
Most of us do.
But wouldn’t it be a great thing if the side gig you have is something that doesn’t even feel like work?
It would be awesome.
Having a slightly less demanding side job helps you to be more productive, stay focused, and still make money on the side.
If you are looking to make some extra cash and still enjoy what you do, then you should consider the following options.
Please do remember that these side jobs will not make as much as your full-time job, but they can come in handy for some extra bucks here and there.
5 Fun and Flexible Side Hustles
Captioning
Captioning is a FUN job. Who wouldn’t want to make money sitting on your couch watching videos?
I would love to.
Captioning is the words that appear on your TV screens when your favorite TV shows or movies play. It is the process of converting the audio content into text and displaying the text on a screen, monitor, or other visual display systems.
Sound like fun? It is.
So here is how and where you can get this job. You don’t need any expertise for this job, apart from typing at a good speed, but you do have to pass an assessment before you are hired.
One company that actively recruits for captioning is Rev. There is a test before getting hired for this job.
For a job where you get to watch TV or movies and still make a minimum of $240 a month, it is a superbly flexible and great way to make extra cash.

Website Testing
Website testing is not a job, but I have seen many people make this work-at-home option a regular extra money earner.
Most of us are on the web these days for much of the day. I am sure you visit at least 5–6 websites every day for any purpose. So why not make some money while you are doing that?
Website testing is checking the functionality of a website and giving your opinion about it.
You don’t need to have any prior technical experience for it, and anyone can do it who is at least good at navigating the web. If you know how to go on a website, then this might be a good money-maker for you. Though the work is not continuous, it’s a good way to make money occasionally.
You can start by applying to sites like Trymata, Usertesting, IntelliZoom, etc.
Website testing is a comfortable role where you get paid around $10 for about 20 minutes of work. Cool, right?!
Mystery Shopping
Mystery shopping is a super FUN way to make money on the side. Who doesn’t like shopping?
The most enjoyable thing about this side gig is you get to do all the shopping and get paid for it. Sometimes, you might not get compensated with money, but instead in the form of food.
For most of the mystery shopping gigs, you get invited in an email that includes the description of the job. It shows what they require from you and details about the kind of work it is. They also indicate the money you get paid for visiting the shop, so you can choose whether to do the job or not.
One thing you need to keep in mind with this job is you will need to travel for general mystery shopping gigs, but there is no such requirement for phone mystery shopping jobs.
You can apply for mystery shopping jobs on websites like BestMark, Market Force, Call Center QA, etc.
Book Reviewer
Do you love reading books? I do a lot. In fact, I am a bookworm. Usually, after reading a book, we all have an opinion about how the book was. Did you know that you can make some extra cash if you share that opinion? Awesome, right?!
Basically, what a book reviewer does is read the book and write a review in a set period of time.
It is a flexible and cool side gig to have if you love reading. The pay you get for this job can vary, and sometimes you get free books as a reward.
Though there aren’t many websites that offer book reviewer roles, I am listing some that do have some roles. Try sites like Kirkus and Online Book Club.
Web Researcher
Now, this is something I enjoy doing. I work as a web researcher, so I browse through many websites each day.
Whether it is for work or just for fun, we jump onto the internet and browse the web many times a day. But this can be an excellent way to make money while doing what you usually do.
There are mainly two ways to make money from this online option.
First, you could opt for something like an internet researcher/web researcher role with companies like Lionbridge, iSoftStone, and Appen.
With these companies, it is a part-time job where you will have to follow some guidelines to rate websites. It involves doing a lot of web research to verify the query web page.
The second option is working as a freelancer for companies like Wonder and 10EQS.
With both of these options, web researching is the critical element of the job and an easy online way to work from home.
There you go; all the ways listed above are the most flexible and fun ways of making some extra income online or offline. As with all the extra moneymakers, you might not make as much as you would in a full-time job. Nevertheless, they are some cool side gigs you can do to make money for your extra income fund.
